Career

Born on April 7, 1964 in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. After attending Tokyo Metropolitan Shinjuku High School, he entered the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo Denki University in 1993. Joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in 1993, served as deputy central executive committee member of the Nissan Motor Workers' Union in 2008, and as special central executive committee member of the Automobile Federation in 2012. In the July 2013 House of Councilors general election, he was elected as the leader in the Democratic Party proportional representation district. 〇Director of the Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Special Committee in 2013, Director of the Settlement of Accounts Committee in 2016, Director of the Special Committee on Official Development Assistance, etc., Chairman of the Economy, Trade and Industry Commission in 2019, Director of the Internal Affairs Committee in 2021, Chairman of the Economy, Trade and Industry Committee in 2021 (Appointed on December 18, 2020)
