Career
Born in Nishi Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture on December 17, 1955. Graduated from the Faculty of Law at Kwansei Gakuin University in March 1954, joined All Nippon Airways (ANA) in the same year, and was elected to the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly in 1958, serving six consecutive terms since then. Resigned as Vice-Chairman of the Hyogo Prefectural Assembly in 1996, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Hyogo Prefectural Political Affairs Research Committee in 1996, Liberal Democratic Party Hyogo Prefectural Political Affairs Director in 2015, and Hyogo Prefectural Assembly Member in 2016. Elected for the 20th House of Councilors regular election (Hyogo Prefecture selection district); Chief Director of the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Commission in 2018; Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance in 2010; Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Hyogo Prefectural Federation in 2011; Chairman of the Administrative Oversight Committee in 2011; Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Fisheries Division in 2011; Member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in 2011.
