Career

Born on March 7, 1971 in Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture. After attending Osaka Prefectural Shijonawate High School, entered the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo. Joined the Ministry of Construction (currently the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) in April 1996 and engaged in housing policy and urban policy. In the 2011 Moriyama mayoral election, he won the election. Since then, he has served three terms for 12 years, carrying out field-based city government reforms. Achieved management reforms at municipal hospitals and the invitation of Murata Manufacturing's research and development base. Over the past 12 years, Moriyama City's population has increased by 8,000 people (10.8% increase). In September 2020, he was appointed as an OECD researcher in Paris.
